 About our Shop
't Apostelientje exists already 30 years and is growing out as an authority in the world of lace.
From the beginning, we have chosen to sell exclusively handmade lace and in the meantime, we have quite a selection of antique and contemporary lace, the oldest dates from the end of the 16th century, when lacemaking started.
Including the antique lace, we have already more than 700 in our collection.
We have studied more and more the existing history of this art and therefore, we can guide you professionally through the different kinds of lace. You wish a certain type of lace or, for a special occasion, then we can help you, according to your budget, to find the best piece for price and quality.
Our top piece, without any doubt, the Stola, complete in Brussels needle lace Point de Rose, that belonged to queen Astrid of Belgium and in which Princess Esmeralda was baptised.
As a house of trust, we are recommended in several guide books such as Michelin Guide, Rick Steves', Time-out, Routard, Lonely Planet,...and Rough Guide.
We cannot illustrate all our lace on our small website but if you visit our shop near the centre of Bruges (Brugge), we would be pleased to show you items from our wide range. Alternatively, contact us by email or via our website and we would send you photographs and prices of items to match your interests and budget.
